OUR PROGRAM
The Gracie Barra Calgary After School Program is a great alternative to traditional after school care. Our certified instructors not only encourage a healthy life style but also provide a positive environment for children to learn the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu alongside their peers.
Our program has been designed to assist parents in providing the tools and skills each child needs to overcome daily obstacles. Whether this involves being bullied at school, feeling peer pressure from friends, lacking focus with schoolwork, or experiencing low self-esteem, the Gracie Barra Calgary After School Program focuses on self-improvement through the principles of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Each day children have the chance to develop confidence through the skills our instructors teach, in an environment in which they can utilize their energy. Our instructors emphasize the importance of a healthy mind and body through daily martial art classes and customized leadership activities.
What We Offer
CARPOOLING
Students are picked up daily after school and transported to our facility where they eat parent-provided snacks before commencing their age-specific Jiu Jitsu activities. Our pick up at the schools is a complimentary service.
Jiu-Jitsu Classes
Tailored for children of all ages, our program instills respect, discipline, and confidence, combining martial arts fundamentals with fun, empowering activities.
Full Gracie Barra Uniform
Every student in our After School Program receives a full official Gracie Barra uniform—the same gear worn by members worldwide. This uniform isn’t just clothing; it’s a badge of belonging to a global Jiu-Jitsu family, giving your child the ability to train at any Gracie Barra school around the world. Included at no extra cost, it’s their first step into a lifetime of discipline, confidence, and community.

What age groups do you cater to for the After School Program?
This program is available for children between the ages of 5 to 12
Does my child need any prior martial arts experience to join?
No prior experience is necessary to join our classes. We offer programs suitable for all levels.
What should my child wear to their first class?
A full Gracie Barra uniform is provided to all students in the program. If you would like to do a trial class, we will have a fresh and clean uniform for your kiddo. Just make sure to bring inside shoes and a water bottle
How many times per week is the program offered?
The program runs from Monday to Friday. You can choose to enroll your child for 1 day or 5 days per week. Professional Development Days, Early Dismissals, Spring Break, and Summer Camps are not included as part of our After School Program.
Are there any family discounts available?

Can my child do a trial class before deciding to enroll?
